101 Things To Do With An Empty Frosting Container
OK, so maybe not 101 things, but quite a few. If you're like me, whenever I make a cake or cupcakes, I head to the baking aisle in the grocery store and get pre-made frosting, the kind that comes in a little round, plastic container with a picture of a cute little white Doughboy on it. So I decided one day that there must be something I could use these empty containers for, and sure enough...
- Money banks...with or without the top...label each container with a picture of a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter and help kids learn about saving money and the value of each coin. When the containers fill up, roll the coins and take your kids to the bank and have them make a deposit into a savings account.
- Travelling food container...keep the top and use it to put your Cheerios and raisins (or whatever else you usually travel with) in when you travel. It won't matter if they get lost!
- Lego containers...especially for those really little bricks. Label them by color or kind and help teach your child about sorting and colors ( puttting them away when s/he is done).
- Flower pot..put some flower styofoam in the bottom and use it to put all those pretty flowers that your kids make at school in.
- Pencil holder...decorate the outside and use it as a pencil holder. We decorated one with muscial notes and gave it to the piano teacher as a present.
- Tub/pool/beach toys.
- Sandbox toys.
- Barbie Shoe container...keep all those Barbie shoes in one spot!
- Paint containers for when your kids want to paint.
- Decorate Easter eggs in.
- Hold marbles.
- Homemade playdough container.
- Use to carry condiments (such as sugar) on camping trips.
- Exposed film...instead of leaving the film on the table or throwing it in your purse, put it in the container where they won't get lost and will be safe from getting wet.
- Organize hubby's nails, screws, nuts, and bolts.
- Paperclip holder.
- Use to put bubbles in when the kids want to play with them and you bought one of those huge 100 oz. bottles.
- Store your Christmas ornament hooks in one.
- Emery boards, nail files, clippers etc. can be kept all in one handy place in one...
The possibilities are endless!
